We have been getting creative in Pod 6 with Matariki celebrations beginning. We have been talking about Matariki at the seven stars that make up the constellation. We have been working on some gorgeous art using pastels for the background blending together and paint stars and dye. Our room might look a little messy in the afternoons but don't worry, the end result will be worth the mess.
Take a look at what we are up to so far, they are looking good but don't be fooled into thinking this is how they will end up looking. THEY WILL BE SO MUCH BETTER!

Winter Poems
In the last week winter has hit us, it has become really really cold. The doors were open and now they are closed to keep all the warmth in and we are all wearing our hoodies all day.
Because it was so cold today we wrote winter poems, we used the one below to help us. It was nice thinking of all the things we do to keep warm but it made me want to go home and put my slippers on. I think Mrs Taylor wanted to sit in front of the fire with a book. But anyway even though it was cold we still wrote some awesome poems. They were hard to write with all the rhyming but we didn't give up and we kept going. Now we are proud of how hard we worked.
We also made beautiful snowflakes to decorate the wall.

26 things we should say more often
Kid President gave us lots of ideas of things we should say more often. Sometimes making a small comment to encourage someone makes their whole day better and its not even hard to do. Here is the Kid President video 20 things we should say more often and a picture of our wall with our 26 things we should say more often.

Questioning Goldilocks
Today we watched this short video about Goldilocks to remind ourselves of the story before we wrote questions for her. Then we had 'Goldilocks' come in and answer our questions.
Below is the video we watched and a snippet of the questions we asked Goldilocks.
The 4 forces of Flight
Yesterday we talked about the four forces of flight. These are the forces that make anything that flys be able to travel though the air. Here is our explanation of the four forces of flight.
